What is Livraria Lello?

Livraria Lello is much more than a bookstore. It is a historic building known for its architecture, its spectacular central staircase and its very special atmosphere.

If you love books, charming places or iconic corners, it is worth adding it to your Porto route.

Where is it?

Livraria Lello is located at Rua das Carmelitas, 144, 4050-161 Porto, Portugal, in a very central area.

How to get there?

🚇 Metro: get off at São Bento on line D and walk around 8-10 minutes via Rua dos Clérigos.

🚌 Bus: use Cordoaria or Guilherme Gomes Fernandes as reference stops. From Campanhã, line 207 stops near Guilherme Gomes Fernandes.

How much is it?

The general ticket costs 10 € and works as a voucher: if you buy a book inside, the ticket value is discounted from your purchase.

What can you buy there?

Besides books, the official store has special editions, collector books, notebooks, tote bags and souvenirs.

I especially liked the small pocket books from Livraria Lello’s own editions. They come in several languages and are easy to fit in your suitcase.
